Milan Stefanov was born on April 26th 1991 in Kharkiv, Ukraine. In the 2006-2008 period he studied in the sculpture course of the National School of Fine Arts “Iliya Petrov” in Sofia, Bulgaria. His outlook on stone sculpture led him to the professional secondary school on stonemasonry in the village of Kunino, the courses of which he successfully completed in 2011. He juggled his creative work with teaching sculpture classes at the same school in 2011-2012. In 2018 he completed with honors the sculpture programme at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia.

He took first place in multiple regional competitions for sculpture. In 2008 he became a laureate with a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture with his art piece “Expectation” in the sculpture competition of the National Youth Exhibition under the auspices of the ministry. In the same year, he also received recognition for his piece “Liberation” at the modern sculpture competition “The Time in Me” held in Sofia and organised by “Shot Arte”. In 2009 he took first place in the international symposium on stone sculpture in the Czech town of Horice with his piece “Creation”.

He ranked third in the “National exhibition of sculpture” held in the town of Blagoevgrad in 2014. Stefanov participated in the first symposium in realistic stone sculpture in the city of Pernik in 2014; took second place in a Varna competition for young artists in the sculpture category in 2014; third place in the 2015 Varna competition for “Unique Art Pieces”; first place in a Varna competition for young artists in the sculpture category in 2015. Stefanov also participated in: the art competition “Charity” held in Sofia in 2015; the 2017 “National exhibition of sculpture” in Sofia; and the national sculpture symposium “Pantheon of Bulgarian Voivodes” in the village of Rayuvtsi in 2019 and 2020.

In both sculpture and painting, he strives for organisation of the space in its entirety in line with his spiritual values and specific approach to human figures and portraits.
